Identification

Wahoo are long, slender scombrids with an iridescent blue-green back, pale vertical bars, a pointed head and very sharp teeth. Their bars can fade quickly after capture.

Handle with extreme caution

Bite-resistant leader material is common, but the crew should match wire, cable, or other material to the presentation. Keep hands clear and use long-handled tools near the boat.
