“Los Cabos” covers a wide area, and pre-dawn drive times can vary considerably. Let the boat's exact departure point guide your choice of lodging.
Before comparing hotels, get three details in writing: the departure harbor or launch, the boat name and the meeting time. A resort's general location is not enough.

San José side
Puerto Los Cabos is by La Playita on the San José del Cabo side. It is not the same harbor as Cabo San Lucas.
East Cape
Los Barriles, Buena Vista and La Ribera are separate bases. Boats may use a resort beach, ramp or marina depending on the operator.
Booking sequence

Airport, entry and local time
Most visitors arriving by air use Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Arrange transportation and save the records you may need before leaving the terminal.
U.S. citizens arriving by air need a passport book valid at the time of entry. Visa and passport rules depend on nationality, and Mexican immigration determines the authorized stay.
Foreign visitors admitted by air can download their digital FMMD after entry. Travelers who use an eligible self-service immigration gate at SJD should keep the printed QR receipt and save the digital record; either may be requested when leaving Mexico.
Pre-arrange an authorized airport transfer, rental car or other lawful service, and confirm the pickup location and total price. Baja California Sur stays on UTC−7 year-round and does not change clocks seasonally.
A corridor resort can work well for a mixed fishing-and-resort trip, but a property's advertised location may not reveal the drive to your boat. Check the route to the confirmed marina and arrange any early transfer before booking.
Useful, compact and easy to check
Most full-service charters supply the main tackle. Your bag should cover documents, sun, spray, personal health and your plans for the catch.

A flexible day can absorb weather changes and give the group options that do not depend on a catch.
See the Arch and coastal formations by an authorized local boat or water taxi. Sea conditions determine access and landing options.
A walkable option for restaurants, galleries and the central plaza. Verify any special event before planning around it.
The national park has access rules, fees, subzones and authorized tourism providers. Plan the day through an authorized provider rather than treating the park as an unscheduled beach stop.
The latest published federal season for Los Cabos ran December 15, 2025–April 30, 2026. SEMARNAT must publish a new annual notice before the 2026–27 dates are official.
