Overview
The Dorado Shoot Out is the grandaddy of East Cape tournaments: the largest dorado tournament in all of Baja. Hosted by legendary captain Kit McNear, this one-day event draws an average of 140 boats to the East Cape for a full day of dorado fishing. With some of the best prizes of any tournament in Mexico, it's a must-fish for anyone who loves chasing bull dorado.
The tournament is based out of Van Wormer Resorts (Palmas de Cortez and Playa del Sol) in Los Barriles. The weigh-in and awards party are a celebration of the summer dorado season.
